Project Description
Watercolor of three Chinese Christians reading their Bibles. What attracted me about this scene was the interaction of light and shadow on the middle figure’s face. I painted it to hang in my office at the Bible Society of Egypt.
At the end of each project, there are always aspects of a painting or some piece of design that cause me to think, “Oh, I could have done that better! I wish I’d done that differently!” And that’s how I feel about the first and third figures. Such feelings are probably both a blessing and a curse!
Perhaps some day I’ll do a whole series of paintings showing Bible readers around the world.
